CHRISTER KNUTSEN BIO:

Christer Knutsen has for years been active on the Norwegian music scene. As pianist in the band Tumbleweed (nominated for the Norwegian Grammys 2003) and as guest a long list of other Norwegian bands and artists releases. Among them Thomas Dydahls "..that great October sound"

He was discovered by FRODE Records A&R man, Frode Da Costa Lia, at a concert at the Øya festival 2004. Shortly after, recording deal in hand, Knutsen and the band Sacred Hearts went in the studio to record the debut album Would You Please Welcome. It was released January 2005 to the delight of critics and audiences alike.

The first single, No Love #1&2, received heavy rotation on most of the major Norwegian radio stations and was among the top 5 most played music videos on Norwegian music television.

The tour following the release was played in front of packed venues in the biggest cities of Norway.

March 2006 saw the release of the second album entitled "Grand Hotel". As the debut, it received excellent reviews in most Norwegian press and was also noticed in some European press.

Constant touring during the spring and a tight schedule at the summer festivals has resulted in a dedicated following and in excellent reviews.

Knutsens musical roots are deeply planted in the American song-writing tradition and the music press was quick to place it in the Americana/Alt. Country category. CK, though, has constantly referred to his music as pure pop music, more in the lines of Big Star than Hank Williams.

Sacred Hearts is the band that, live as well as on record, contributes to lift CKs music to yet another level. The band consists of Pål Hausken on drums, Magne Vestrum on bass and Lars Lundeval and Rune Helland on guitar.

CK&SH is currently working on the third album with producer Kyrre Fritzner.

Great reviews for Stonefish Brigade

Stonefish Brigade have received great reviews in Rogalands Avis and Stavanger Aftenblad (we´ll link ´em up as soon as they are published on the net). 5 of 6 stars in both newspapers! We are eagerly awaiting more reviews to be published soon!

CCAP at Popkomm in Berlin

CCAP will be represented at Popkomm in Berlin again 8. - 10. October. The Norwegian delegation will be found at the Norwegian Export Norway stand (#18/303B).We have scheduled a few meetings with foreign companies to discuss opportunities that might benefit all parties involved. As always we are looking forward to meeting interesting people, having a good time, checking out some new bands and hopefully make some business friendships. We have a busy schedule but there are still some slots open if anyone would like to sit down for a coffee or beer. We are especially interested in discussing distribution, licensing, music placement etc for our new releases and also for our great catalogue outside of Norway. You don´t have to bring a business deal to the table though, we are more than happy to learn how other companies operate and what goes on in the music world in general.

Our friend
Sebastian Waldejer is in Berlin to soak up the atmosphere and write new tunes, so is Eltervaag who contributed the beautiful Let It Go to the Pop08 album. There is a rumor that they are putting together an unofficial Popkomm gig by themselves with a little help from some good local friends. Keep your eyes on this site and I will let you know as soon as this is confirmed.

Also, if you´re into true blue drinking bluegrass you should check out
United Steel Workers Of Montreal at Cafe Zapata Friday 10. October 11.45pm. They have a new album coming out soon on Weewerk
Seeing this band live always makes me drink too much, and their label boss Phil Klygo is a great guy, so get your beers in and check out the band!
