We love vinyl!
Yes, we do love vinyl. In a perfect world every release on CCAP would be on vinyl. In reality most of the releases these days are digital. But, luckily we are working with a few artists that share our love of vinyl. The sound, the touch, the format, the smell, the feeling of putting that pick up down on a fresh new single, or a well used old album. There is something about vinyl that you just cant find on a digital file, a cd or a cassette tape.
Anyway, head on over to Kjetil Brandsdal / Drid Machine´s website to check out some of the lovely covers he´s made for CCAP and our artists recently. Johnny Hancocks, Kitchen Orchestra, Sebastian Waldejer and Poor Edward have all had their covers designed and printed by Kjetil the past year. And there is more to come! These singles are printed on Arigato covers from Stumptown Printers in Portland, USA. Honorary mention also goes out to Thor Legvold at Sonovo who is doing most of the vinyl mastering for us. Great work!

Great minds think alike?
A few months ago Sebastian Waldjer released his brilliant new single «We Never Get Away Anymore». This week we stumbled upon a great new track by the US band Real Estate. These two tracks are amazingly similar. We doubt either of these artists have heard about each other before these tracks where released and that it is all a coincidence. It´s a small world after all? A few months ago Sebastian Waldjer released his brilliant new single «We Never Get Away Anymore». This week we stumbled upon a great new track by the US band Real Estate. The new The List minialbum, «Come On, Twentyseven» is now available through Spotify, Wimp, Platekompaniet, CDON, Amazon etc. Sebastian Waldejer´s new single «We Never Geat Away Anymore» will be available digitally and on a lovey 7» vinyl including b-side «The Ocean Is Full Of Tears». The 7» is beautifully packet in a Stumptown Printers Arigato cover, design and handprint by Kjetil Brandsdal. Release next week.

Thomas Dybdahl recently signed a world wide deal with Larry Klein´s Strange Cargo label (Universal). Sebastian Waldjer is releasing a new 7» single, «We Never Get Away Anymore» featuring Thomas Dybdahl, Ådne Sæverud and Øyvind Jacobsen in March. A new album is expected in late summer 2011. Sebastian Waldejer er en sanger og låtskriver fra Stavanger. Allerede I 2008 ble han utropt til “Årets Kunstner” I sin hjemby Stavanger, før han hadde gitt ut sitt debutalbum. Sebastian slapp to EP´er før han i 2009 ga ut sitt debutalbum “The Rise Of The Urban Child” som nå for første gang lanseres i Danmark. Albumet er produsert av Børge Fjordheim (Cloroform mm) og Ashley Stubbert (Pearl Jam, President of The USA mm). The Rise Of The Urban Child viser en ung artist i utvikling, men også en artist som er i ferd med å finne sitt eget uttrykk. Det er et stillferdig og vakkert album, som samtidig er komplekst og utfordrer lytteren. Albumet fikk god mottagelse i norsk presse, men er ikke lansert utenfor Norge før . Norsk presse sammenligner Sebastian Waldejer med artister som Prefab Sprout, John Cale, Radiohead og Stavanger kollega Thomas Dybdahl.
I 2010 ga også produsenten John Derek Bishop ut et album, "Collages", som er et remix / rework av Sebastian Waldejer´s debutalbum.

Sebastian Waldejer released his first full-length album "Rise of the urban child" in august 2009 to critical acclaim. This young artist from the west-coast of Norway has an interesting and wide range of musicality in his songs, though he is often referred to as an indie-pop artist. Waldejer has toured and done showcases with and without his 3-piece band in countries including Norway, Germany, UK, Ireland, US (Nyc), Italy and Kazakhstan(!) In october 2009 he finished a UK & Ireland tour supporting Thomas Dybdahl & The great october sound + The Handsome Furs.

Sebastian Waldejer took advantage of the long cold winter we have been experiencing this year to build a snow chair and having a cigarette sitting in it while having the whole thing recorded as a DIY video for "Ode to the farewell". Sebastian Waldejer is releasing his debut longplayer «Rise Of The Urban Child» on CCAP Monday 24. August

Sebastian Waldejer is an Indie-pop artist hailing from Stavanger who has been attracting a lot of attention in the last couple of years after his 2006 EP release ..Porcelain Baby... 2008, the culture year of Stavanger, Norway, was dedicated to the making of his much anticipated debut album collaborating with various artists such as Morten Abel and Børge Fjorheim (Cloroform and Morten Abel), and US producer Ashley Stubbert. This fantastic artistic rendering of his pop sensibility will be released August 24th, on Checkpoint Charlie Audio Productions. "Rise of the urban child" is Sebastian Waldejer..s first full length album, after the critically acclaimed releases "Porcelain baby EP" (2006) and "France EP" (2008). -- "Very talented young songwriter from Stavanger with an ear for catchy melodies and interesting arrangements. A quick update on what is going on with CCAP these days.
This spring we are releasing new albums by Sebastian Waldejer (May), Helldorado (March) and Rub A Dubs (May/June)
Sebastian is working in the studio right now to finish the recordings for his debut album. Helldorado have finished the recordings for their fourth release. The album is being mastered by Barry Diament. Rub A Dubs are also in the final stage of recording their new album.
Jackman have just releases a new movie, Jernanger, which have received great reviews and which contains some great music by Jackman himself. Jackman released a great EP followed by an equally great album on CCAP a couple of years back. Well worth checking out if your into surf/garagerock/gypsy/punk/funk/jazz (and who isnt?)
We are also applying for funding for a new POP08 project (named "POP09" obviously)
We are also in the process of restructuring the label. We are planning to add two sub-labels each with their own speciality and we are adding a couple of great managers to the label to work these sub labels. We will tell you more as soon as we have decided on all the details...

We are taking a well deserved (?) holiday, the office will be closed from 23. December - 28. December
